Photos, with subtitles.

Drop in a few shots. Each one gets a 4:3 film frame and captions written for the scene, and you swipe to pick the line you like.

  • Any size or shape. Everything is cropped to the same frame.
  • Photos stay in your browser. No key? Captions are matched on your device.

Try swiping the frame to the right.

Features

Everything a roll of film needed, minus the darkroom.

A small tool that does one thing well: turn your photos into frames with a story.

  • Swipeable subtitles

Every photo gets several caption options. Swipe the frame, tap the dots or use the arrow keys to pick your line.

  • AI or on-device

Add one free API key for captions that read the photo. Without one, a built-in bank of 80 lines is matched on your device.

  • 4:3 film frame

Any size or shape is cropped into a 4:3 frame on a 9:16 black canvas, the classic reel look. Drag to reposition, zoom to fit.

  • Digicam looks

Soft CCD, Faded roll, Disposable and Cool dusk. One slider controls how strong the filter feels.

  • Date stamp

Burn in an orange digital date from the file, like it came straight off a point-and-shoot.

  • Private by design

Full photos never leave your browser. At most, a tiny 640px preview goes to the caption model, and only if you add a key.

  • PNG, ZIP or reel

Save one frame, a ZIP of the whole roll, or record a reel video. MP4 where your browser supports it, otherwise WebM.

  • Works on every screen

Phone, tablet or desktop. Touch swipes, drag-and-drop, keyboard shortcuts and reduced-motion are all covered.

FAQ

Questions, answered.

Do my photos get uploaded to a server?

No. Your full-resolution photos stay entirely in your browser. Only a small low-resolution preview is sent to the AI caption model if you have an API key configured. Without a key, captions are generated entirely on your device.

What photo formats does Shutter Clicks support?

Any image format your browser can handle, including JPG, PNG, WebP, AVIF and GIF. Any size or aspect ratio is accepted. Everything is cropped to the same 4:3 film frame. iPhone HEIC photos only load in Safari.

Do I need an API key?

No. Without one, captions are matched on your device using a built-in library. A key unlocks AI-generated captions that are more specific to what is in your photo.

What can I export?

Individual frames as PNG, all frames as a ZIP, or a reel video in MP4 or WebM that plays through your photos with their captions.

Is it free?

Yes. There is no subscription, no account and no watermark on exported frames.

How many photos can I add?

Up to 24 in one roll. You can add, remove and drag to reorder them freely.

Does it work on mobile?

Yes. The layout adapts to phones and tablets, and swiping the frame with your finger changes captions.

Your next reel is one swipe away.
